She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from North Dakota State University and has worked in many areas of dietetics including acute and long-term care, outpatient medical nutrition therapy, weight management, outpatient dialysis and clinical nutrition management. She enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering.

Candidate for Treasurer-elect Jill Schiermeister:

Hi, my name is Jill Schiermeister; I am currently working at Sanford Health both in the hospital and in clinical setting as an Oncology Dietitian. I was originally born and raised in Montana and moved to North Dakota in 2013. I received my BS in Nutrition and Food Science from Middle Tennessee State University and then went on to intern at various agencies through Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. I am proud to say that I am one of two Dietitians in the state of North Dakota that is board certified in Oncology Nutrition and have held this certification for the past 10 years. I love working with cancer patients as this population and their nutritional needs are constantly changing. Being able to help them along the journey gives me joy and satisfaction knowing that I made a difference and helped contribute to their success of being cancer free. While I love what I do as a dietitian I want to be able to give back by being more involved with our profession either at the local, state or national level. It also gives me a greater opportunity to network with other dietitians in our communities.

In my down time, I stay very busy helping my husband raise his three amazing children and all their school and sports activities. I am also involved in church functions and am a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and assist with Altar Guild duties. I love to hang out with friends, travel to new places and try new foods, and am an avid Tennessee Titans football fan. Finally, most importantly I enjoy “me” time by going for a long run while listening to all types of music.
